AI Call Recording for Business Conversations

AI call recording gives your team an audio record to review after an eligible AiDial call. Configure recording, storage, encryption and retention around the conversations your assistant handles and the way your staff follow up.

AI Call Recording for Supported Business Calls

Listen to the words, tone and context when staff need to review

AI call recording creates an audio file from supported calls where recording is configured. For calls handled by your AiDial receptionist, it gives your team a way to revisit the conversation when a written note needs more context.

A staff member may need to check a request, understand a question or review how the assistant explained a service. Replaying the available audio can support that follow-up and help identify changes to your call instructions.

AiDial recording belongs to the configured call workflow. It is not a general recorder for every call on your business or staff mobiles. We agree the supported call paths and access process before treating the recording workflow as ready.

Use Audio Review to Improve Call Handling

Turn selected call reviews into practical changes

Selected recordings can help your team review service explanations, enquiry capture and the path to staff. Listen for unanswered questions, unclear wording or repeated misunderstandings, then decide what needs to change.

A recording can support coaching and quality review alongside call intelligence and staff feedback. It does not confirm that a promised booking, message or external action succeeded; check the relevant system for that outcome.

Start with a clear review purpose and identify who needs access. Agree how staff will find an available recording, what they should check and where resulting improvements will be recorded.

Configure Private Storage and Encryption

Choose storage and key management that fit the project

AiDial supports private recording uploads to configured object storage, with recording details linked to the call record. A stored object address is not automatically a public playback link. Access needs the authorised route agreed for your deployment.

Supported encryption arrangements include storage-provider encryption, AiDial-managed encryption and a client-managed key option for suitable deployments. The source and storage combination affects which arrangements are available, so we assess the configuration before recommending one.

Where uploads are configured and complete successfully, the retained operational copy is the private stored object and the local staging file is removed. Local-only retention is a separate supported setup. Read more about the wider platform on our data protection and compliance page.

Set Audio Retention Around a Clear Business Need

Manage the audio file separately from the written call record

Recording audio and call metadata have separate retention controls. The audio retention setting determines when the retained recording becomes eligible for cleanup. Keeping a call entry does not mean its audio file will remain available for the same period.

Agree the required audio window and check that the cleanup workflow is in place. Deletion eligibility is not a promise of removal at the exact expiry second; execution and any separately managed exports need to be considered.

Access and retention should reflect how your team actually reviews calls. We can scope the recording configuration and verification needed for that workflow without promising one storage location or retention period for every project.

Understand What the Audio Record Covers

Recordings, transcripts and staff handovers have different boundaries

A recording preserves available audio; a call transcript provides a written account and a summary offers a shorter overview. These are separate outputs, and they can differ in coverage or availability.

Text PII redaction does not automatically mask or remove speech in the recording. Do not assume that an audio file carries the same protection as a redacted transcript.

Coverage after a staff handover depends on the configured transfer mode and whether AiDial remains in the call. Some retained handovers can continue recording even when transcription stops; other paths end the AiDial recording. Test the chosen path before relying on its coverage.

Capture and finalisation can fail, and a recording may omit pauses or private transfer stages. It should not be presented as a guaranteed, complete reproduction of everything every participant heard.

AI Call Recording FAQs

Recording and Review

AI call recording is an audio record of a supported call handled through a recording-enabled AiDial workflow. It can help authorised staff revisit an enquiry or review call handling. Availability depends on the configured call path and successful capture and finalisation.

No. This feature applies to supported calls handled through the configured AiDial workflow. It is not a universal recorder for your staff mobiles, unrelated phone lines or every conversation on an existing PBX.

Supported inbound and outbound paths can start recording through the project's configured call setup. Recording needs to be enabled and the capture and storage route verified. Automatic configuration does not guarantee that every call produces a complete recording.

Available recordings can support review of service explanations, enquiry capture, misunderstandings and handover experiences. Agree the review purpose and who needs access, then use what staff find to improve approved information or call instructions.

A recording contains audio; a transcript contains recognised speech as text. A summary is a shorter account. They are separate outputs and may have different availability, retention and coverage. Listening to audio can add tone and context to a written record.

No. Audio can show what was said, but a spoken promise is not proof that a booking, message or external action completed. Confirm the outcome in the relevant provider or business system.

No. Capture, file access or finalisation can fail, and configured pauses or transfer stages can affect coverage. We verify representative call paths, but do not promise an uninterrupted recording of every call or everything every participant heard.

We agree and verify an authorised access process for your deployment. Playback or download needs to support its storage and encryption arrangement. A saved storage address alone is not proof that a staff member can access the recording.

Storage and Call Coverage

AiDial's recording uploads use private object storage rather than a public-read upload setting. Authorised access still needs to be configured and checked. Do not treat a stored object URL as a public playback link.

Supported arrangements include storage-provider encryption, AiDial-managed encryption and client-managed keys for suitable setups. Options depend on the recording source and deployment. We assess the supported combination and access requirements with you.

In the supported upload-backed setup, a successful upload leaves the retained operational copy in private object storage and removes the local source or staging file. Local-only recording retention is configured separately, with uploads disabled.

The project's audio retention setting determines when the retained audio becomes eligible for cleanup. Call metadata retention is separate. Agree the intended window and verify cleanup execution; there is no single retention period promised for every AiDial project.

Audio and call metadata have different retention controls. An audio file can expire while the related call entry remains. Any separately exported copies also need their own handling; do not assume one cleanup operation removes every copy or every associated record.

No. Configured text redaction does not automatically mask or remove spoken personal information from audio. Treat the recording as a separate data item with its own access and retention requirements.

It depends on the configured transfer mode and whether AiDial remains in the call. Some retained handovers can continue recording even after transcription stops. Other paths end the AiDial recording. Verify the selected route before relying on coverage.

Identify the supported call paths, review purpose, staff access needs, storage and encryption arrangement, audio retention and handover boundaries. The AiDial team can scope the configuration and checks for your deployment.
